I Miss You Daddy

Yesterday mommy and I flew to Salt Lake to surprise aunt Kelli for her graduation from BYU (we got her good - she even cried). But, it was supposed to be daddy's graduation too - he graduated in December, but he just didn't walk today. So, before we left, we took a picture of him wearing his cap, and we walked for him. This is me and mommy and i'm wearing my cute graduation cap just for daddy. I miss you daddy. I love you!!

cleavage?

Explanation: So, the other night, I was down on the floor playing with and talking to Leah. Ryan came around the corner and started laughing, but I had no idea why he was laughing. He goes, "Nice cleavage, Leah." So we HAD to get the camera. Plus her expression is priceless. No, we are not exploiting our child, we just think she's such a chub...love it.

still growing...

Here are the pictures of Leah at 8 weeks. Can you believe it's already been two months??? Crazy how time flies.
She was kind of fussy this morning, hence the binkie...but I still think they're cute.

This is the birth announcement I made for leah, but instead of mailing it to everyone, we're just posting it. Come on, rent's expensive out here!
Don't worry grandmas Hauley and Layton - you'll get a real copy.

ouch!

Leah went to the pediatrician yesterday and got her second Hepatitis B shot (see the bandaid on her chubby little thigh). She screamed bloody murder during the shot and then was so calm and cuddled in my arms right afterward. The past two days have been kind of rough, poor little thing...but I think she's slowly getting back to normal. Can't wait for the two-month vaccinations in two weeks!!
We also found out she is now 21.25 inches long and she has gained a whopping 4 lbs. 3 oz. for a grand total of 10 lbs. 1 oz. - we love every chubby little bit of her!

my favorite poses

Here Leah is modeling her two favorite poses:

1) "To infinity and beyond!"

2) "hooray!!"

happy easter

Leah had a great time on her first Easter. Ryan and I decided to not do candy this year in our Easter baskets - we didn't want it and didn't need it!! But, we did get her a little lamb easter basket and filled it with some eggs that taught her about Jesus. Then we got her some super cute Sunday shoes...

...and some sweet wrap-around sunglasses. I'm not sure if she likes the sunglasses so much...but she'll get used to them, right?

She looked so adorable in her Easter dress. The bishop's wife gave it to us as a shower gift. It was a tiny bit big, but she looked so adorable in it with her new shoes! Later, I wasn't feeling so well, so Ryan made us a yummy yummy roast and we had a delicious Easter feast. It was a quiet, but wonderful day!

the city by the bay

Ryan had the day off of work for Good Friday, so we decided to take advantage and explore some of the sites near our new home by the bay...

This is us at a lookout above the golden gate bridge. it was super foggy, so we couldn't get a very clear picture, but it was actually really neat to see the bridge with the fog rolling over it.

Ryan is apparently the first-ever pregnant man...and it's in san francisco...hmmm... (you can see the baby is breech - her feet are already coming out of him - hahaha).
The lookout we went to was a place called Battery Spencer - it was battlement used up through the 1940's to protect the bay area. You can still see where the cannons were mounted and the little rooms even had fireplaces in them. and this was the bathroom...hahaha...
We don't have a jacket that fits leah yet, so we bundled her up in her regular clothes with some jammies (that are nornally too big) on top...she seemed pretty content!

And this was our favorite...it's a tunnel painted like a rainbow. Ah, only in san francisco. We drove up through Muir Woods, but it was really crowded, so we decided to keep on driving and ended up in Sausalito. We went to this random place called the Bay Model...and it was this giant model of the bay. Kind of interesting, but the coolest part is there is a place called "Mare Island" - that will have to be one of our future adventures for sure!

Sausalito was really pretty. We walked around a shipyard and saw some 'tall ships' - they were even staffed by people dressed as sailors...or pirates...i'm not sure which. We are pretty sure that we saw Smee...not kidding. We had a great time spending the day together as a family and exploring our new surroundings. Now we know the way around some of the sites...so anyone is welcome to come and visit and we'd be happy to play the part of tour guide.

mommy time

So, I basically got jealous of my last posting about leah and ryan, and decided i needed to have a post about leah and me! Leah and I have fun all day long together.

We talk and play and have staring contests (leah still wins)...

i tote her around in the Baby Bjorn - I love that thing...

and she smiles and laughs for me...

daddy's little girl...

ryan loves playing with his little girl...and she definitely loves playing
with him too. she gets so excited and kicks her little legs every time he is near.
The other day, they had a staring contest - leah won. Ryan likes to pretend she is Asian.
And when Ryan has a bad day, leah cheers him up.

They're a great team! And I couldn't be luckier to have them both in my life.

p.s. leah smiled for the first time on sunday, but we haven't been able to get a good one on camera - this was the best i have been able to do so far...
