...my eyes. really! these are the insides of my eyes. the optometrist took a picture of them at my appointment last week and emailed them to me.

{left eye}she said the eyes are the only part of the body where you can see the blood vessels, etc. without cutting them open. so you can actually learn a lot about the body...and your health...by looking at your eyes. kind of cool!
Cool. They look like some kind of crazy planet! My homeopathic doctor in MI always takes a close picture of our eyes when we go. He spots a lot of stuff by looking at the eye -- inside, but also the iris -- and it's saved my mom the need for surgery, etc. The human body is amazing!

ReplyDeleteJJ thought this was very cool--he says the dark spots are called Macula or the sweet spot of vision. He also said he must have a very nice camera. He can only see a small portion of the eye with his little scope. Then again he is a student--not a Dr. How fun you got to have the picture sent to you.
