two hundred!
yup, this is our two-hundredth post! here's to two hundred more. i thought we'd go out with a bang. here goes:
on a good note: we leave for CHINA in a few hours. "my bags are packed, i'm-a-ready to go"...but ryan isn't. he's working LATE today of all days! but he'll be home soon and, although we were the ultimate procrastinators, he's a speedy packer. i'm not worried. here we come hong kong and beijing. wow. it's really here!
on a very, very sad note: leah left yesterday for Utah. we miss her so much already! what a cutie pie. she will have fun with grandmas and grandpas for two weeks. this is her packing yesterday. she wanted to help cram all of her goodies into her suitcase.
on a good note: since i was baby-less today, i took a nap and got my first-ever pedicure. veeeeeerrrrrrry nice.
on a sad note: i still miss leah
on a good note: i sent her with a card to open each day we are gone with something i love about her (too many to count, but i did narrow it down to 17) and a picture to match. here she is opening her first card/picture today.
on a sad note: ryan misses leah too.
on a good note: since we won't be posting for the next few weeks, it's YOUR job to post. here's the game:
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses...
see ya in two weeks!

have a blast in china! what an amazing opportunity! so, here's my memory. before we were married and we were in our single's ward together, i sang in sacrament meeting. you came up to me afterward and asked me for a copy of the music. i remember thinking it was cool because i had thought it would be fun to get to know you before, but never really had/took the opportunity....and then SO crazy that we end up in the same ward five years later!
Oh, I miss you guys already! Have a wonderful time in China. That is so cute that you sent a card for Leah to open each day. You are such a good momma! Now for the memory part... so many from just the past few months. The first thing that comes to mind is one of our many times decorating sugar cookies... when we went out to the pool with kids and left the cookies baking in the oven for over an hour! Oops! And the other one that sticks out is playing Rock Band for hours at my house when we dominated our husbands!
Maren! I love these things. Remember when we went on that St. George/Vegas trip (stopping in Cedar to play tennis) and the four of us dressed as twinners? Chris and Ryan wore their lawyer shirts and you and I wore that matching swimsuit we bought for the pool. We are so cool!
We always have so much fun with you guys- we miss you!
Have fun in China!
I got my first pedicure for Mother's Day this year. Totally worth it....my nails stayed painted forever. Here's a memory for ya....remember when we went to the park with Jeff and Brandon and Mike and I'll just say that Mike was all alone and very bitter. Hilarious.
Wait! China! Take us with you. Hope you have a great time! Missing babies is the hardest part of a vacation but I have the feeling you'll be distracted enough to enjoy yourselves.
A memory? Swimming in the pool at y'alls apartment. Both of us were pregnant at the time but neither of us knew the other one was. Babies born 2 weeks apart! Have I mentioned that we think y'all are great? Come back.
I hope we get to see you and Ryan on TV!!
Okay so this is just an admiration memory. I just had Armanie, life was Crazy, we came to your please to play games and mingle with the Duff gang and I just remember looking around and thinking Maren is amazing!! She plays the piano, runs just after she had Leah, keeps her home spotless, and her home is so so cozy and perfect! And that's just a few of my awed thoughts. Love ya! Have a ball!
i'm so excited for you guys to go to china. well, i guess you are already there, and i hope you are having an awesome time.
oh man, there are so many memories that i could post here, like our awesome road trip to sactown where i fell asleep everytime we got in the car, or our bus rides up to holladay freshman year. running in black pants with boxer shorts over them (we were really the epitome of cool!) photo shoots in our dorm room, again, so cool! stalking HBLL security guards, you making your eggs in the microwave or eating kix... the list goes on and on. but on a more serious note, i always remember you being the model student, always studying and acing your tests, and i always admired that, because that was definitely not me.
So I remember when I first meet you Maren, it was at grabit.com and you were so polished and I wanted to be like you. I loved that you were so into skirts and running and were are so good with finances. I thought you were amazing and a great example. You are an excellent writer and it was fun doing the Internship there and getting to know you. I always thought your story was funny about how you meet Ryan! You inspire me to workout!
I just saw your comment on my blog and of course would love to see you and leah and ryan (if they are with you) when you are here...I dont have the right number for you so call me! (801)735-8393
p.s. yay for 200 posts! memories: playing with barbies/clothes in Aunt Zelma's basement, writing emails back and forth to/from moron and bratny, walks at cabin, visiting the library, etc. etc.love you moron! -bratny
So there are lots of memories...but we went to Park city last night and I couldn't help but remember our little sleep over with Crystal, Emily and Kelli and our shopping trip the next day to park city. good times! I hope you guys had a blast in china!!
Oh! I didn't read this until today. Oops. Just one memory? I have lots of great memories of running with you and I'm so excited to create lots more! Thanks for the great run on Saturday!
sorry, i'm lame and didn't check your blog forever, so I'm a little late on the memory game. but, here's my memory. it's only 2, well 3 words actually:
Costco Gummy Bears.
Enough said. :)
