11 months

can you believe it? eleven months already. time has flown by.

for all who are interested: still not crawling; still no teeth.

but...she claps her hands (and feet), waves hello and goodbye (usually to herself in the mirror), babbles all day long, dances, wiggles, sings and loves to play with her books. she is awful at church because she loves to be noisy. her smile consists of a giant, cheesy grin and a huge squint of her eyes. she can support herself on her hands and knees, but then laughs rigth at me and falls to her stomach. she loves to stand up against things like the couch and piano bench. she mostly sleeps on her stomach now, which is good news for the hair growth on the back of her head. yay! (pigtails on the back of her head coming soon...) her favorite foods are: any type of fruit, oatmeal and toast with cheese. she usually eats what we eat for dinner and ham fried rice was a success last night! she just learned how to sip from a straw, which is very liberating for me. she loves the bath and is a great splasher...especially when it's dad's turn to bathe her. we love our little leah.

i CANNOT believe that she is already almost a year. CRAZY how time flies! she is a doll though.

don't worry about the teeth thing, i have heard of many kids who don't cut any teeth until a year. also, nate never crawled, he basically just went straight to walking. they say that kids who don't learn to crawl first have all these problems with learning to read and stuff like that, but Nate basically taught his older brother to read. whitney's little joel didn't crawl til between 10 and 11 months, then started walking really soon after. some kids just don't want to crawl i guess! plus, she was preemie, right? i think they tend to take a little longer w/ some things, but not always. my SIL's son was 6 weeks early and didn't really start talking until like 2 1/2-3 years old, and he's totally fine, very smart!

Oh my gosh! Piggies! And she's standing up! (OK propped up, but still standing!) I can't believe what I'm missing out on. Love the star shirt, love the cheesy grin, but I think my favorite photo is the bottom left - serious leah.

I know you aren't feeling well and this was a "headache" to post, but thank you. I lug you.

hi mare.. so my favorite two pictures are cheesy grin that she gets from ryan (bottom right) and then the bottom picture second from the left...her hand motions are classic first steps to ugly dancing. can't wait to be there for the 12 month pictures!!!

we love leah, too! it is hard to believe she is growing up so fast. you two are such great parents ... we look up to you a lot! :)

She looks so adorable. I just want to pick her up and kiss her little cheeks. Ah, so cute! Melanie just got her first tooth. (Not all they're cracked up to be.) And know that crawling is highly over-rated. We couldn't wait for Hailey to crawl and then couldn't wait for her to stop destroying things. (Still waiting for that by the way). Miss y'all!

Happy almost 1 year!!! Wow...time has flown! I remember your fun baby shower right before you left...cannot believe that was a year ago!
No worries on the crawling...Annie walked first right after her 1st bday and then crawled...maybe it runs in the fam?? :)
LOVE the piggies

I can't believe she is growing up so quickly. Pigtails already!!! Wow I need to maybe sprinkle some miracle grown on top of Lucy's head. I feel like we have missed out on everything. I have never even seen her in person.

Love the cheesy grin. You do such a great job with the Leah update every month. It's very fun to read and to see her grow up.

I am so impressed that you have kept this up each month-I love these posts! She is such a doll and I can't believe you can put her hair in bows. There is no way my little Capri would sit still for that. Any ideas, let me know!
