christmas card letter

i'm mulling over ideas for our christmas card letter this year. what do you think about this one?:
dear 2009,

thanks for dropping by, but you've overstayed your welcome. it was thoughtful of you to bring us so many great gifts this year (little miss leah walking as #1!!!), but we really don't appreciate blood clots, cancer, disorders, migraines and bags underneath our eyes. maybe you could pass along the message to 2010?

best wishes,

the layton family

p.s. if she asks, 2010 could possibly bring some light at the end of the tunnel. thanks!

You might want to tweak the wording a bit, hehe, but the picture is for sure a keeper! So cute! I love you hair! Sorry it's been a rough year!

I think that would be the perfect letter. I almost wrote a similar letter to 2008. 2009 was much better to us, so hopefully 2010 will be much better to you.

2010 is going to kick 2009 in the bootie. That's all I have to say about that. More pics coming soon soon.

I'm ok with this letter. I just had a conversation with Richard about these very sentiments as I planned for 2010 benefits enrollment. We're hoping not to need to plan for as much medical reimbursement as 2009 required - but that's the hard part - you have to make those decisions in advance. I just have a feeling about 2010 and know that it will definitely be better than 2009. Can I also say - Ryan, you make me smile. Love, love, love the family photo. I want an 8x10.

Love the photo and the card. Nothing like being truly honest! I know I wanted to send one of those out in 2007. Hang in there, here's hoping 2010 is an AMAZING year for you and your family.

I know you don't know who I am, but I absolutely LOVE reading your blog. The way you tell your story with such love has really touched me. I keep you and your little Leah in my prayers every night and hope for nothing but the best for your family! And I think you must be one of the most fun people around too!

Here's to a better 2010 for your family!!

Hi Marin. You guessed it! I did find your blog through Mary and Chase, we were at BYU together. Hope you're having a great day!

i thoroughly enjoy this letter. i have some suggestions for 2010.

1. ryan, if you come to douglas there can be a cake...a PINK cake waiting for you each day.. just bring your family with you.

2. Mackenzie wants to show bean mexico...so a trip to douglas is in order.

3. mack also would like to have more water fun play time with bean.. so again, douglas trip is in order.

4. 2010 says, "jus tgo visit your sister cause she misses you and gets lonely here in mexico"

5. there will be no blood clots, cancer or disorders allowed in 2010 because they reached their quota in 2009.. there may be migranes but shmoj massages can help with those:)

i love you and ADORE that picture!
