kumbaya...
we went camping over the weekend with our friends, Julia and Jonathan Wade. We had lots of fun...and leah had lots of fun being a stinker (as shown by picture below).
no, she was actually really good! after a dousing of OFF! spray, we were free from the mosquitos and able to enjoy the beautiful weather and surroundings of a redwood forest in the santa cruz mountains. we made tin foil (aka 'hobo') dinners, desserts and breakfasts. yum! we played cards, talked and just relaxed. it was a lot of fun!
julia and jona by the campfire
ryan and leah by a big redwood
ryan's patriotic carving
(no worries - it was pretty tiny)
...and it doesn't matter because we created our names from carvings that were already there!!
maren and leah...all smiles.

Grandshmoj will need to have a talk with Leah. Looks like you guys had a fun weekend. Nice to have some "relax" time.
haha. Love the cute pink little hat! 'wink wink'
seriously, as funny as that picture is of leah, how gorgeous is that child? we had so much fun with you guys, mare.
So fun that you went camping! I've been wanting to do that all summer. K, that is THE funniest picture of Leah ever!!
aahhh, camping in the santa cruz mountains, nothing better! it's not nearly as relaxing with a child who wants nothing more than to roam around in the dirt. I was actually just thinking about SC last night, and hoping that this next year will be more fun cause Asher will be able to walk, etc. Glad you guys had a good time!
Mare that first pic is funny of Leah because I had to do a double take to see if she was giving the camera the "bird" :) Looks like so much fun!!!
Hi Laytons! It's great to see some pictures of Leah-- she's so cute!
I looked up the ceramic painting place I went to last time I was in Palo Alto, and I think it was called Create It. This is the website: http://www.createitceramics.com/studio_info.html
I'm pretty sure that's it. I hope you have fun if you go there! I had a blast there with my sisters.
It looks like things are going well for you guys! Glad to have your blog address so we can see what you are up to.
