September...so far...
I love, love, love autumn. I just don't think I can say it enough. I love autumn. I love the colors (yes, you can find colored leaves here in California if you know the right spots), I love the weather (yay for jackets!), I love the festivities (yay for birthdays!) and it makes running quite enjoyable. I was even able to live through a solo 16 miler. Yes, I ran 16 miles by MYSELF on Saturday. Three cheers for me!! September has been busy so far and I have been an awful blogger, but here are some updates:
We started the month off with a bang: a trip to Santa Cruz for a Labor Day beach party with friends because Ryan had the day off work. It was HOT!! Leah enjoyed her very first lollipop. Don't worry, Dr. Hauley, we brushed her teeth!
See. Her preferred brushing position is on daddy's shoulders. 
We were successful in our attempts at a real ponytail. Love it! And love those curls! She's such a girl...she always finds her beads to wear. 
We have enjoyed a few smoothies thus far. I swear Leah drinks more than I do. Notice the beads again. 
We are trying to help Leah learn to eat with utensils. Some attempts are more successful than others, as you can see. 
Some of those eating attemps lead right to a bath. She enjoyed her very first bubblel bath this week. I'm not sure that she loves the bubbles to play in...she mostly loves to eat them. 
We've also enjoyed spending a lot of our time here: in time out. Leah has taken up new hobbies of HITTING, THROWING and BITING! You can't tell from this picture because I had to take it from the front room, but she is completley throwing a tantrum: screaming, pulling her hair, thrashing her body everywhere. She hates time out. That's a good thing.

My favorite part is the slobber that drips out of her mouth onto my head while she's brushing her teeth.

oooh, i love fall too. i am so excited for it. leah is looking so much older. she is a cutie!
i am glad to know that there are some girls out there too that hit and throw tantrums. i was beginning to think they were all angels. there is actually a girl in my building (not members, so maybe the lack of nursery plays a part) whose daughter is 18 months, and she talked to me about how she was concerned that Asher had hit her daughter a couple of times. She was super nice about it, but it kind of caught me off guard, as i thought most toddlers did the same thing. i was beginning to think i was a terrible mother. nice to know that, yet again, i am not alone! :)

We love fall at home and will miss it, but I guess another spring isn't bad. :)

i'm with you--fall is my favorite. there's no such thing here, though, so breathe in some of that crisp air and collect some leaves for me!
Oh the pony tail curl is so cute. *sigh* maybe someday I'll get to use pony tails holders on my girls again...for now they've been boxed up. I'm glad Leah listened to your lecture on never cutting her hair. Very appropriate I think. =0)
Melanie has started biting too! It's her best defense mechanism against controlling and interfering older sisters. Watch out Hailey! Biting's a hard one to beat, haven't figured out a good solution yet.
oh, the wonderful tantrum stage. good luck. they all go through it. she is so adorable! 16 miles? you are awesome.
