only ryan...

Seriously folks, only Ryan would be THIS creative:

We've been trying to read The Book of Mormon to Leah each night...the one with pictures. She doesn't love it. Okay, she basically hates it, but mostly because she's just waiting to read this:

As many of you know, it starts out:

"The night Max wore his wolf suit and made mischief of one kind...and another..."

Tonight, Ryan's version was:

"The night Nephi wore his Laban suit and made mischief of one kind...and another..."

Oh my. I could NOT stop laughing. And I'll spare you the visual I found of the latter version on the internet.

I can totally see it. That was awesome.

And I'm doing a little catch-up blogging here, but I hope your step dad is doing OK. Scary! But I'm glad to hear of the miracles and blessings. I hope he continues to get better and better.

And I enjoyed one of your recent posts about Leah. The b/w picture of her was so cute. And then the mother guilt. Women seem to be instinctively and professional trained to take full responsibility for everything our children do (or don't do). The best advice I've ever gotten from other moms is to take emotion out of the picture. Things work out one way or another. I've felt exactly the same as what your describing. Here's a hug, *hug*. Leah is her own sweet person, and she has extremely cute pigtails. Those have got to count for something...

That is so funny. At least he is trying to help her like it. And don't worry, Ethan is 3 and it still is not his favorite thing to read the Book of Mormon stories. Let's just say that the lesson portion of family home evening lasts about 5 minutes and we always ask him that whole week what we talked about so that he remembers. So, no worries, I just keep telling myself that one day they will love it.
