Ben and Jerry's

Another item on my Tucket list {seriously, post to come} was visiting the Ben & Jerry's factory in Vermont. It's about an hour drive and I figured celebrating Kate's birthday was the perfect excuse to eat some ice cream.

We rounded up some of our friends {and one of them was even nice enough to drive us!} and headed across the Connecticut. When we arrived, we watched a video about how Ben & Jerry's started, then we toured the factory {via a big glass window one floor above all the machines} and watched all the creamy goodness come to be.

We sampled a flavor in the flavor factory that isn't sold in stores - Cinnamon Yum Yum was the flavor of the day and I quite liked it! So did Kate. She at the whole thing!

We took a break to enjoy our own ice cream cones {we got ours free because it was Kate's big day!} and then ventured to the playground outside. I hate to say it, but I think the playground might have been a bigger hit for the kids than the factory tour.

After ice cream, we figured we needed a cider donut to top it off, so we drove up the road a few miles to Cold Hollow Cider Mill where we sampled fresh pressed apple cider {sooooooooooo good} and fresh cider donuts {also  sooooooooooo good} before we headed home.

Yummy day with fun friends!

Chase talks about those apple cider donuts every time fall rolls around. One of these days I need to get to Vermont myself!
Looks like you had a great time! And happy birthday to Miss Kate!
