grateful - no. 11

grateful | america

today i'm grateful for all those who have served or who are currently serving our country who have preserved my rights and freedoms. this is a picture of my grandpa in the aleutian islands during world war ii {he's in the front, center wearing his hat}.
he served in the navy. and, as i'm {still} working on his life history, i've come across some amazing stories and am ever-so-grateful for his service and the service of many other men and women, then and now.

My dad served in the Navy during WW II too! In spite of the thousands of men who served, I wonder if their paths ever crossed?!

Do you remember singing in the Veteran's Day concert back in high school? I always really liked that concert, there was a special feeling there. I think that if I were in Utah still I would just go for fun to watch the high schools perform. Ah, memories. :)
